iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review
Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid of taking on the stairs. Like all mops and vacuums it is susceptible to clogging by particles, like tennis shoes, jewelry, thread, or other loose items.
The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms, and create no-go zones. You can also monitor the performance of your mops as well as their battery levels.

iRobot Combo j7+
The Combo J7+ is a robot vacuum and mop that combines smart mapping capabilities of iRobot and its ability to handle spills. It has the same acoustic sensors onboard and iAdapt 2.0 navigation that are used in other Roomba options and maps your home 7 times faster than earlier models. It also allows you to create Keep out Zones (for rooms which the robot should not enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms that it is required to keep clean).
The robotic arm is the most significant feature of the J7. It keeps the mop pad in place when not in use, and lowers it for carpeting or hard flooring. In my tests the Combo J7+ did a great job at avoiding spraying water onto the rug. The robot was not able to cross the rug, even though I moved it around many times.
The arm is equipped with a 240mL tank which is easy to remove and refilled. This makes it more convenient to use than the mop pads on many other 2-in-1 robotic arm. It also utilizes iRobot's PrevisionVision obstacle avoidance technology, which is more advanced than other systems of this type.
iRobot Combo i5
This multi-tasker is designed to vacuum and mop with one machine. Its vacuuming is accomplished by a specialised bin that can hold up 60 days' worth of debris that iRobot claims will reduce the amount of dust released into the air during the process. The i5+ comes with a dual multi-surface rubber brush and Power-Lifting suction to tackle dirt and dust as well as pet hair and staining. When it's time to mop, simply swap between the Mopping Bin and a compatible cleaning solution.
The i5+ runs iRobot OS and is smarter as you use it. It creates a Smart Map, which remembers the names of rooms as well as your cleaning preferences. The iRobot App allows you to create a schedule or instruct the robot to clean a specific room.
iRobot is equipped with the ability to recognise household clutter like cords shoes, toys, and bags. It will then automatically stop and return to the docking station, allowing it to recharge and finish the cleaning task at a later date. It is also voice-compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant, understanding around 600 voice commands, which is more than any competing 2-in-1 robot.
iRobot Combo j5
This robot vacuum and mop from iRobot is a great choice for homes that have carpets and hard floors. It uses intelligent mapping to avoid obstacles and clean efficiently. It offers multiple mopping options, including the SmartScrub system that can remove tough stains. It can also create No Mop Zones to ensure carpets don't get swept up. The dock replenishes the mopping fluid in a timely manner. This model is more expensive than the earlier Roomba Combo j7+, however, it comes with more features.
Its patent-pending Mopping Drive System applies pressure to the floor for an even deeper clean and also removes tough staining. It also gets under furniture and into tight spaces for an even more thorough cleaning. The Combo j5+ is also compatible with the iRobot Clean Base for automatic dirt disposal.
Smart Mapping allows it to navigate your home seven times faster than before5, while identifying rooms with 90 percent accuracy6. It can even make a map of your whole house, meaning you can clean up any area you like after just one step. It also detects and avoids things like backpacks, cords pet toys, kitty litter boxes and shoes, socks and more to make cleaning easier. With the iRobot app, you can schedule your home's cleaning schedule and manage your robot from any location.
iRobot Combo i3
The iRobot Combo i3 has been upgraded from the original Roomba i3. It has the same great dirt compartment on the outside and it also has a HEPA filter to trap allergens However, it now supports smart mapping. It is now possible to create no-go areas to prevent the vacuum from vaccuming these areas repeatedly. The i3 Plus still has a bunch of other excellent features like its advanced cleaning system, 10x power-lifting suction, and three-stage cleaning process. It also features a textured exterior to keep away fingerprints, dust and hairs of pets.
It does well on plain flooring and can clean up most debris, but it struggled with pet hair on low pile carpets. how you can help is quieter and does a fantastic job on carpets with high pile. The i3 costs a bit more than the Roborock S4 Max, but it has a self-emptying system that cleans the mop pads and refills the reservoir with water.
With the i3 app you can make schedules for cleaning at a time that suits your needs. You can also make use of your voice assistant to control your robot and start or stop the cleaning. It also monitors the unique floor plan of your home to provide a personalized schedule and cleaning habits. It utilizes the latest sensors for mapping to guide you through carpet and hardwood and learns about your habits to optimize performance.
iRobot Combo i2
The Combo i2 is the latest robot mop and vacuum from iRobot. It combines iRobot's smart floor cleaning technology to make it a great choice for homes with hard floors and a few rugs or carpets. The Combo i2 has a combo system which allows it to switch between mopping or vacuuming by pressing a button. It also comes with iRobot's latest navigation technology. Its PrevisionVision system is more effective than the average and will avoid obstacles like power cables and steps.

Another outstanding aspect of the Combo i2 is its dual multi-surface brushes. They clean deeper than standard mops, taking dirt from edges and corners. This is due to the robot's acoustic sensors on board. The Combo i2 also offers powerful suction and a smart design. It can be controlled via the iRobot app with voice assistants, as well as an programmable schedule.
iRobot Combo i1
The Combo i1 robot vacuum can also mop. If it detects the surface needs to be cleaned an arm that is a robot with a cleaning pad lifts the entire unit before swinging under it. The back of the unit has a dust bin and a water tank which can be removed to add cleaning solution. The robot uses a proprietary Bona cleaning solution, but it can be used with other brands.
The Combo i1 is unlike most robot vacuums in that it can reposition the mophead to the top of its robot when it detects carpet. This lets it vacuum and then wipe the carpet clean with its microfiber cloths, ensuring all surfaces are spot-free. It is equipped with a range of sensors and impressive navigation skills to help it avoid obstacles such as furniture and cords.
It also comes with a larger battery that will keep it running for longer as well as an automatic self-emptying mode that will reduce the frequency of emptying its trash bin. It's an excellent option for families who are looking for the convenience of a single robot, but with the flexibility of various cleaning modes. It can be controlled by voice commands via Alexa or Siri on devices that support Google Assistant. It can also be scheduled to begin and stop when you come and go.
iRobot Combo i4
This iRobot robotic mop and vacuum is ideal for anyone who wants to keep their home tidy without lifting a finger. It works with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it using voice commands. It also comes with smart mapping technology, which means you can make a plan for the robot to follow.
It has a low-profile docking station that doesn't take up the space. It also has a dirt compartment that can be empty with the press of the button. The compartment is made of opaque plastic, so you don't get a glimpse of what's inside. The i4 is also missing some features, including zones to keep out and AI-powered obstacle avoidance on the j7 and+ models.
It does, however, have a powerful vacuum system and rubber brushes that do not get caught in pet hair. It's a great option for homes with high pile carpets since it is able to handle more dirt and debris than less powerful vacuums. The i4 requires less maintenance and has lower costs for recurring maintenance and can run longer in its most suction-free mode.
